In Paraguay, there are only 49 wells being drilled, half of which have indication of oil or gas reserve. Paraguay Basin has abundant hydrocarbon, with three out of five wells being drilled having indication of oil and gas reserve. Parana Basin is estimated to have 20 billion barrels of oil reserves. Neighboring countries such as Brazil, Argentina and Bolivia also have proven oil and natural gas fields.
